We had a scare yesterday after surgery. After abnormal behavior from Hayden and a scan of his brain, doctors realized that they had MISSED (not punctured) his largest brain cyst. They told Lisa he would probably have to have surgery AGAIN, and observed him all night in the ICU.
THANK GOD, Hayden stablized and does not need the second surgery right away. He is still in the hospital with Mommy and Grandma, trying to recover gain back his weight! Afterall, he did just have brain surgery!
He is as cute as ever and has developed some wonderful new traits!! Like making new noises, faces and completely blinking (things he hasn't done before!!!). He is the cutest thing ever, I know we all love him very much!!
Because Hayden has trouble eating and keeping food down, he is extremely under weight. They may have to give him a feeding tube for a litle while, just so he can get to a healthier weight.
Please continue praying for Hayden and his family as these are very stressful times for them!!
Thanks and love to everyone =)

Hayden's Surgery
*From Tuesday*
Good morning,
Just to let everyone know, Hayden is in surgery at Tx Children's. He is not keeping food down and is severely dehydrated. My Mom and Lisa waited in the ER for 4 hours Monday, and when doctors were finally able to see him, they took him "STAT". He was sent to the ICU for tests and observation. Apparently, they don't know why he is so sick. They are going into his ventricles in his brain with a scope to see if there are problems there. Also, they will be checking for a shunt malfunction. HOPEFULLY they will find the problem, fix it, and little Hayden will be just fine. Hayden's usual surgeon is out of town, and his new one has informed Lisa that this surgery has never been done before.
Of course, Lisa and my Mom and worried and stressed to the max (after a restless night of sleeping on the floor in the hospital). Both of their cell phones are dead, so we can't call. They will be calling me when the surgery is over, and I will send out an e-mail. Please pray for Hayden's successful surgery and a painless recovery. This is the 3rd time he has stayed at TX Children's in less than a month.
***********************************************************************************
Hayden is finally out of surgery. They "busted" his cysts with a scope and replaced part of his shunt. He is in the ICU and is recovering. Lisa and my Mom are still at Tx Children's, too. Doctors believe that if Hayden does better Wednesday, he can start eating again!! YAY, I know how hungry he must be =( Hayden is such a strong little man, I admire his strength and will to survive. He may only be 7 months old, but he has been through a lifetime of experiences. Thank you for all of your prayers and thoughts. Please continue to pray.

Hayden is home!
Hayden, Mom, and Grandma came home Saturday from Texas Children's after a 9 day stay resulting from shunt surgery. Hayden is feeling much better to be at home!! He has another brain scan on Friday, Oct. 31st (Mommy's 25th B-Day) to make sure the new shunt is draining the fluid from his right AND left side. If the fluid is not draining properly from his left side, Docs will do immediate surgery (to go in with a camera and bust all of Hayden's cysts).
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pray that the shunt is working properly and that he will not have to undergo MORE surgeries, especially on his Mommy's birthday =( Hayden has been through SO MANY surgeries, he deserves to be at home! As you may guess, another surgery will result in an extended stay at the hospital again.
If you have a minute, call or text Lisa with a few words of encouragement as this is an extremely stressful and tiring time for her. She is having to feed little Hayden every hour and a half from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. (and at 4:30 a.m.) because he lost so much weight in the hospital. She is ALSO starting her new part-time job tomorrow (Thanks SO much to Uncle Glen and Rachel)...so Lisa will need lots of support and love!!
I would REALLY love to get together with you guys and do something special for Lisa and Hayden to just honor them for being the strongest and toughest Mother and son duo of all times...does anyone have any ideas? Please E-mail me if you have any ideas!! KDLogan1@yahoo.com
Thanks so much and love to everyone!

Hayden's shunt surgery
SUCH a trooper!
SOOOO tired!
Don't come near me with that needle!
Me, Mommy and Uncle J!
Hello everyone. Mr. Hayden has had an extremely busy weekend! Lisa and Grandma took Hayden to his usual Dr. appt at Texas Children's on Friday. He was immediately taken into surgery because his shunt was blocked in two separate spots and was not draining the fluids from his brain.
Surgery went well, and his old shunt was removed and replaced with a skinnier and longer one. He was recovering well and hoped to come home Sunday afternoon.
Unfortunately, Hayden became sick. After a couple days of not keeping food down and other ailing symptoms, Hayden's IVs were replaced (8 times) and is currently under the doctor's watchful eye. There is a possibility Hayden will need another surgery and more procedures soon, but nothing will be known for the next couple of days.
Doctors told Lisa and my Mom (who is staying with Lisa at Texas Children's) to prepare to be there until at least Friday. They have their own room with Hayden in there as well. Lisa and Grandma are taking care of him while the Doctors only treat him medically.
Please pray for our little man and his family, as it is an extremely stressful and scary time right now. I think everyone can vouch and agree that Lisa definitely deserves a medal for Mother of the CENTURY!! What a loving, strong, and beautiful person/Mother she is.
On a GREAT GREAT GREAT note..........Scans of Hayden's brain confirms what doctors said was impossible: Hayden's brain is GROWING!!! Shows what the determination of a loving mother can do!! We all knew Hayden was going to prove those know-it-all doctors wrong!
We all love you big boy and are praying for your recovery!!
P.s. Please, if you can, visit Hayden, Lisa, and our Mother as they sit all day in their tiny hospital room with visits from Daddy, Grandpa, Aunt Sara, Aunt Krystal, Uncle Jerm and cousin Kaylee. I know they would LOVE LOVE to see family and friends' smiling faces!!! The number to their room is (832) 826-1008...it goes directly to them.
Also, please pray for our Mema as she is too recovering from surgery!

Hayden is good and safe!
After an 8 hour stay at TX CH ER, Hayden has been given the thumbs up! Although he is still thin, Lisa, Dustin, and the team of doctors are working hard to get his weight up!
THANKS to my Mom, Noni, Sara, and Courtney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They went to Lisa's apartment today and took care of Hayden while Lisa slept for 5 hours! She needed some help so bad, and was running off of 1 hour sleep from the previous night! They really saved the day! Poor Dustin works all the time & it is hard & tiering for him to wake up evevry 3 hours to feed Hayden.
Hayden is such a cutie, and will going to his neo-surgeon tomorrow for a complete check-up. I just know that everything will be fine! Thanks for the prayers and thoughts...the journey has just begun!
I PROMISE I will upload some pics soon!

Hayden is in the Hospital again...Please pray for him!
Hey everyone. Long time since I have posted, and I hate posting sad news.
Hayden has been having trouble keeping his formula down lately. Poor Lisa is up all night and day trying to feed him just 3oz at a time. It takes her an hour or longer to feed him 3 ounces EVERY 3 HOURS no matter what, and he is throwing up all of the formula after most bottles, so she has to feel him right afterwards to ensure nutrition absorbing. Because he has lost weight, the Pedi ordered Lisa to take him to TX Children's RIGHT AWAY. They have been there for hours and has still not been seen. We HOPE HOPE Hayden will not have to stay in the hospital...he is soooo tired of the NICU!! Please take a moment to pray for our little man that he begins to eat and gain weight! I will update the blog ASAP. Lisa's phone is dead, and she doesn't get reception in the hospital.
As you can imagine, Lisa, Dustin, and Hayden are extremely tired! As soon as Hayden goes to sleep, Lisa gets busy with the house chores while Dustin is working his butt off with 60+ hours a week.. They NEVER gets a minute to just RELAX!! If you get a minute, please shoot them a positive text or leave a message for them reminding them that they are WONDERFUL parents!!! Dustin & Lisa are so tired (physically, emotionally, etc.) and deserves encouragement!!!
I will keep everyone updated!!

The Booger is home!!!!
The Booger is home!!!! Mr. Hayden Wayne Vorse is finally home as of Friday afternoon! Lisa and Dustin are on cloud nine and loving every minute with their beautiful miracle baby!
Thanks so much to everyone that has been keeping track of the Vorse fam and their difficult journey through the NICU. Their new chapter in their life has just begun and we will be sure to keep the blog updated!

Friday is the Day

FRIDAY is the day Hayden will be coming home (HOPEFULLY!!!!) As soon as Dustin gets off of work, they will head on up to the hospital to pick up their bundle of joy!!!
We are hoping he will not need tons of monitors and medical attachments to come home with, but if he does, that'll be okay, too!
It is so hard to believe, that just 4 months ago, we were so worried about Hayden's survival...and now, we are anticipating his arrival home. Prayer does work, and we appreciate everyone who has stuck by our side throughout these long and sometimes troublesome times; without all of you, these past 4 months would have seemed so much longer.
Friday will mark the end of one chapter in the Vorse's lives, and begin a new one. Although Hayden is coming home, the long journey has just begun. Lisa and Dustin have a long road ahead of them with all of Hayden's special needs. He will have physical therapy sessions, frequent dr. appts. with all 5 specialty doctors, and so many other commitments. With the love and commitment from this outstanding family, I know they will persevere.

A Quick Update!
Just a quick update! Hayden has passed his car seat test (sitting safely in a car seat for 1 hour while maintaining good stats), which is 1 step closer to his arrival home! It may be a little postponed due to his slight weight loss, but that's ok-as long as he come home soon!!!
He is almost home, Lisa!! No more driving downtown every day to spend time with him...he will soon be a footstep away!!

Hayden is coming home soon

Hayden is coming home soon!! Yes, the news is so true…the day we have ALL been waiting for!!!!
Doctors told Lisa this morning, that if all goes well the next few days, Hayden should be coming home Monday or Tuesday!! Yes, THIS Mon or Tues, as in August 4th or 5th!!!! There is still a chance something could happen, and Hayden will need to stay, but let’s hope not.
We need those prayers going through the roof right now, so please pray pray pray for a full recovery so Hayden can FINALLY come home to his Mommy and Daddy!!!!!! Wow, it is finally happening for these amazing parents who NEVER gave up hope!!
A HUGE thanks to our Mom, Dawn, who visited Hayden every day with Lisa. She almost spent as much time at the hospital as Lisa has! She remained the rock of this family through these tough few months, especially for Lisa. So, THANKS SO MUCH MOM!!! Lisa has said that she wouldn’t know what she would have done without you!
I know that everyone is soooo excited about finally visiting Hayden at home, but it is going to be a difficult process. Doctors have informed Lisa that there can only be a couple people (maybe immediate family) that will be able to visit the home right away…we have to remember that his immune system is still weak and he is sooo susceptible to ANYTHING, including colds, coughs, pneumonia, and especially infection!! At the hospital, the room air is much more sterile than at home.
Lisa and Dustin ask to have total privacy the day Hayden comes home…as you can imagine, they want every single second with their precious baby without any distractions!!! Everyone has been so great and I know you will respect Lisa and Dustin’s wishes! Thank you so much!
When people are finally allowed to visit Hayden man, there can DEFINITELY be no babies or kids, as they have lots of germs…sorry Kaylee, I know you wanted to finally meet your cousin =(
If and when people are able to visit Hayden, your clothes must be clean and contain NO NO NO pet dander or cigarette smoke. Hayden is still susceptible to respiratory disease and various respiratory problems! Lisa and Dustin have given Gizmo to my Mom and Dad b/c they can have no pets with Hayden.
I will update the blog with more information (the exact date he’s coming home and when people can visit) when I get updated by Lisa.
Thanks so much you guys for your support and prayers!!!
P.s. HAYDEN IS FINALLY COMING HOME, YAY YAY YAY!!!

Surgery went well
Hayden's surgery went great today, thanks to God and everyone that has been praying for him. Also, thanks to the many family members who came to the hospital in support of Lisa, Dustin, and Hayden.
There are still possibilities that the shunt will have complications later, so please keep praying that the shunt will continue to be a success! Hayden had to be put back on a ET breathing tube, but will be off of it soon.
Looks like our litle fighter has amazed us yet again with his courage and strength.
As soon as I get new pics, I will post them.

Please Pray for Hayden!
Please please pray for Baby Hayden, tomorrow he is getting one of his shunts put in to drain his cysts! PLEASE pray that the portein does well with the shunt!!! This is a difficult and dangerous surgery, so please keep him in mind!
On a great note, he passed his swallow test today, which means the formula is not going into his lungs!! Docs think that maybe he has reallllly bad acid reflux.
I will keep you updated!!!
Tomorrow will be a really busy day for Lisa, Dustin, and my Mom so if you have any questions, please call me instead of them. Thanks!!
Love,
Krys

More Updates
Hayden was taken to TXC by ambulance today, with Mommy and Grandma close behind!! They say the hospital and staff are very nice, even though parking is $11 a day!! Hayden is well worth it, though =)
There are a few surgeries Hayden will undergo in the near future. The 1st one will be placing a temporary tube in his head/brain to drain the fluids out (instead of tapping him so much). The 2nd surgery (HOPEFULLY by Tues) will be to drain/remove his cysts, and, of course, a surgery later to implant the shunt.
It may take until Tues to perform the surgery because docs need to reevaluate him...a second opinion can’t hurt! They removed EVERYTHING off of his face today; Mommy was able to see her little man without all of the tape and tubes!! They even took him off of nasal canula, stating he did not need it any more!! He is doing great so far!! Wow, what an improvement!!!!!
Please continue to pray for our miracle baby!!

Change of Plans
Hey everyone! Plans have changed.
At last minute, UTMB informed Lisa & Dustin that they do not take their insurance, so Hayden can not go there. Lisa has worked her little butt off, and has got him accepted into Texas Children’s. HOPEFULLY he will be transferred today! Because of politics and such, TXC will be doing their own evaluations, MRIs, ect. This could take days.
After all evaluations and if TXC agrees to perform the surgery, Hayden will finally get the medical attention he so desperately needs and deserves. PLEASE continue to pray for our little chunky monkey, he needs all the prayers he can get!
We love you Hayden!!
P.s. Thanks so much to all that are praying for our lil man and supporting his parents, you deserve our many many thanks!!!!! Believe it or not, your positive comments and support raise their spirits, hopes, and the will to fight!
There is nothing stronger than a Mother fighting for the life of her child!

Please Pray for Hayden!!
Hello everyone!
Hayden is having brain surgery (to remove/drain cysts) hopefully tomorrow. He is being transferred to UTMB tomorrow morning from Clear Lake Regional. They really wanted him to go to Texas Children’s, but they did not have an opening for another week, and Hayden needs this surgery now. Please pray for a safe roundtrip and successful surgery!!
I hope everyone is keeping up with Hayden’s progress with his site. His family really appreciates the support. Please go leave positive comments for Lisa and Dustin, they enjoy reading them!!!
We were hoping for Hayden to come in a couple of weeks, but because of this new obstacle, it may be delayed. Please keep praying for Hayden and his family, as they are very stressed and concerned, as you can imagine. He is 4 months and 2 days old!! What a big boy!
We will update his status, so stay tuned =)
**To all of my preggo friends and friends with healthy children: Please never take them for granted, or take the fact that you can carry your child for 9 whole months. At times, pregnancy and rowdy kids can become stressful, but take a moment to reflect on how lucky you really are**
Thank you!!!

Hayden Man!
Daddy & Hayden
Just aswingin'Just to let everyone know, Hayden is doing GREAT!!! Lisa & Dustin have been able to feed him a couple of bottles, and he is drinking 3 bottles every 24 hours...he sure does enjoy that over his feeding tube! Lisa and Dustin are also able to hold him every time they visit...which is every day!!!
He has his own crib and swing in the NICU!!! You should see him go, what a cutie pie!
Hayden is already ready to get up & walk, using his legs during physical thearpy!! He is really amazing all of us! It is now becoming so very clear on how much of a miracle Hayden really is. His doctors told Lisa that he had a 1% chance of survival, compared to other infants with his difficulties. What an amazing fighter!!! Goes to show how much prayer really works!
We are still waiting patiently for Hayden to come home, please keep praying for him!!!
Hayden's Grandma B (Brenda) and I made a slideshow of Hayden's journey thus far, and you can watch it at:
http://www.photodex.com/sharing/viewshow.html?fl=2999761&alb=0
Thanks so much for keeping up with his blog, your love & support keeps us going!!!
P.s. Don't forget about Lisa's shower this weekend at Kim's (at 3:00)!!! It will be a blast! Let's make sure Hayden will have what he needs when he gets home!! They are registered at Babies-R-us and Wal-mart (the one on Fairmont has more of a selection than the one on Spencer)!!!
His first REAL bath!! Mommy got to help!!
SO sleepy after my bath!!

Hayden is back on the canula (since last night)...keep it up our lil' chicken nugget!!!
Today has been a BIG DAY for our lil Hayden Man!!! He DRANK HIS FIRST BOTTLE TODAY!! As long as he stays on the nasal canula, he will be drinking a bottle once a day (to get used to it) then more later!! He drank the entire bottle, all 25 cc’s!!!! Pretty soon, Lisa & Dustin will be able to feed him through the bottle!
We are sooo proud of you Hayden!! Keep strong, we are all praying for you!

Hayden is a BIG BOY!

Good afternoon! Hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th weekend!!
Our little big man is now up to 7 lbs 12 oz and a little over 20 in. long!!! He’ll be big enough to ride roller coasters before we know it!!
Unfortunately, Hayden was too tired to stay on the nasal canula, but is still on 4 peep (nasal prongs/CPAP). Hopefully, after he rests, they will put him back on the canula next week...whenever he is ready! His little organs, muscles, and brain have had to work twice as hard with only ½ the developmental time, so they get pretty tired easily!
GUESS WHAT??? Hayden is in his OWN CRIB at the NICU!!! He is big and well enough to stay in his big-boy bed!! Lisa went out right away to get him his own mobil and other necessities; she and Dustin both are so proud of their little fighter!!
On another good note, the ROP surgery (to prevent blindness) has worked!!
Hopefully the protein levels in his brain will decrease so Drs can put Hayden’s shunt in and he will be able to COME HOME!!!! Please keep praying and visiting, the whole family appreciates it!!! Thanks to Grandma Susan for visiting today, Hayden loves to see you!
Love to everyone!!
P.s. Don’t forget about the upcoming showers!!!

Happy "Gestational" B-Day Hayden!!!
Hey all you Hayden fans, sorry it’s been so long since the last post!
Hayden is now 7 POUNDS 4 OUNCES!!! Wow, almost 4 times his birth weight. Keep going big man!!
Today, July 2nd, was his official due date (he is 103 days old, or 3 months 10 days old!) but not even 1 day old gestational. He continues to amaze all who love him and pray for him! He has truly shown all of us how to be a fighter. His parents have shown us pure love and dedication while never losing hope or becoming pessimistic, even when everything seemed so unfair and wrong. They never wallow in self-pity or blame anyone for this tough situation, even though we couldn’t blame them if they do. I think we could all learn something from this courageous family.
Even though Hayden is getting so big, the battle is not over. His protein levels in his brain (which have to be below 200 before he comes home) are at 3500. They think it is due to the blood clots in his brain (from the bleeds) dispersing.
Hayden was able to stay on the nasal canula for 28 hours, but was just too tired to do it all on his own. He is currently breathing room air through nasal prongs, and will try for the canula when he is ready. Maybe then he will begin to drink from a bottle!!
Thanks to the many visitors Hayden has received lately, Auntie Sara, Grandma B & Grandpa B (Brenda & Bryan), Aunt Cleo, Tish, and everyone else. And of course, MANY MANY MANY thanks to Lisa’s parents who visit Hayden on a daily basis, sometimes even twice every day; without everyone’s support, it would be an even more difficult journey for the Vorse family.
And remember, whenever you are feeling down and out, gain strength from this little family and recognize the courage it must take them to thrive so courageously & unselfishly…God has a plan for us all and sometimes hard times are a blessing in disguise. I truly believe that God must think extremely highly of Lisa & Dustin to bless them with such a special little man. Keep thriving Hayden, you’ll be home before you know it!!
Don’t forget, Lisa’s showers are fast approaching!! If you have not received your invitation by Friday, please send me your address and we'll get one to ya!! Let’s make sure Hayden has everything he needs when he gets home =) Thanks sooo much!!!
Love to all!!!

GREAT NEWS!!!
Since Friday, June 13, Hayden has been doing great!! We HOPE and PRAY he has finally caught the break in life he truly deserves!!
He is on the nasal prongs, and since Tuesday evening, breathing all on his own!!! Hopefully he will be on a nasal cannula by this weekend. If this happens, he will begin drinking from a bottle soon!!!!
The nasal cannula is a device used in the hospital, in a pre-hospital setting, or at home to deliver supplemental oxygen to a patient or person in need of extra oxygen. This device consists of a plastic tube which fits behind the ears, and a set of two prongs which are placed in the nose or nares. Oxygen flows from these prongs. The nasal cannula is connected to an oxygen tank, a portable oxygen generator, or a wall carries carry less than one litre per minute; these also have smaller prongs.
As of Friday, hayden has also been on nasal prongs CPAP, wearing clothes, and been able to be held by Mommy & Daddy!!! He is a strong 6.2 and is steadily growing!!
Friday the 13th proved to be Hayden’s luckiest day thus far!! Please keep praying for our little man!!!

ROP Surgery today
Hello everyone. Unfortunately, Hayden does have stage 3 ROP (the worst kind) and had to have immediate laser surgery. It is now 1:15, and he is in surgery to correct the ROP. This surgery will correct the ROP but will cause Hayden to lose some peripheral vision, and he will be near-sighted. We are not sure of the recovery time, but hope it will be quick! I will repost when I get more info. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.
On a good note, Hayden is 6 LBS 1 OZ!!!
CORRECTION: On the last posting I mentioned Lisa’s showers; here is the updated info on the invites.
July 12th: Lisa’s family shower at Krystal’s
July 19th (maybe): Dustin’s family & all friends at Kim’s
Hope everyone can make it! There are so many people to consider, and I am sorry if the dates fall on a day that someone can’t come. It is impossible to accommodate every single person =( I'm sorry!

New Info!!
Hello everyone, hope you all had a great weekend!
Hayden’s surgery was rescheduled to June 4th and it went great, even better than expected!!! Docs expected Hayden to have his intestines adhering together and lots of scar tissue…but he didn’t have either!!! Thanks and God bless everyone praying for our little guy!!!
Because Docs believed Hayden’s surgery to go worse than it did, they initially planned on putting in his shunt 2 months after the surgery. Because it went as well as it did, they believe he may get it in a month or so!!! If everything else goes as planned, he will be able to come home a few weeks after his shunt is placed!!
We are waiting on the debris in his brain from the Meningitis to go away!!!! They are still causing seizures, which causes apnea. As soon as Hayden can start breathing on his own, he will begin drinking from a bottle. As soon as he begins to drink the entire bottle with no residual, maintains his blood pressure/temp, and passes a few more hurdles, he will be able to finally finally finally come home!!!
He is up to 5 Lbs and 14 oz, and wearing NEWBORN DIAPERS!!! His original due date is fast approaching: July 2nd. He will be about 3 ½ months old, but 1 day gestational. He has come a long way, and so has his courageous family.
Lisa’s showers are also approaching. Her family one will be on July 12 (I am sending the invites out in 2 weeks). Dustin’s cousin Kim is throwing their friend shower, and I will post the date when it is set (it may be July 19).
Tomorrow is when we find out how severe Hayden’s ROP is and if he will require laser surgery. Please pray that his eyes are getting better!!
Love to all and kisses to Hayden!

Hayden's postponed surgery & more info
As you may know, Hayden's surgery has been postponed until Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Doctors have fund that his intestines are sticking to his stomach, which they will fix tomorrow. Please pray for Hayden's safe/successful surgery and quick recovery!!
Unfortunately, Lisa and Dustin were informed that Hayden has ROP. "Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a potentially blinding eye disorder that primarily affects premature infants weighing about 2¾ pounds (1250 grams) or less that are born before 31 weeks of gestation. The smaller a baby is at birth, the more likely that baby is to develop ROP. This disorder—which usually develops in both eyes—is one of the most common causes of visual loss in childhood and can lead to lifelong vision impairment and blindness" (National Eye Institute).
He has mild ROP in his left eye, and light ROP in his right. We will know on Tuesday whether it is getting better or worse. If it is getting worse, Docs may try laser surgery. "Laser therapy "burns away" the periphery of the retina, which has no normal blood vessels. With cryotherapy, physicians use an instrument that generates freezing temperatures to briefly touch spots on the surface of the eye that overlie the periphery of the retina. Both laser treatment and cryotherapy destroy the peripheral areas of the retina, slowing or reversing the abnormal growth of blood vessels. Unfortunately, the treatments also destroy some side vision. This is done to save the most important part of our sight—the sharp, central vision we need for "straight ahead" activities such as reading, sewing, and driving" (National Eye Institute).
Because of a rapid fluid growth in Hayden's brain, he had to have another head tap this morning.
On a good note, Hayden weight 5lbs 8oz!!! he is also loved by so so many people! We want to thank you so much for keeping up with Hayden's progress and updates...we appreciate your love & support!!
Let's hope & pray that Hayden gets thr break he deserves and his ROP gets better and his surgery goes well!!!
Please keep praying for our little miracle man!!! He needs all the prayers he can get!

News on our BIG BOY!!!
5-27-08
Hey everyone!! Guess what? Our little man is over 5 pounds!!! Wow! He is getting so much bigger and stronger!
We are hoping that Hayden will get his surgery early next week to reconnect his intestines. The sooner the better because he will have to recover in the NICU for 2 months AFTER the surgery and before they can put his shunt in. The fluid from the brain (through the shunt) will be drained into his stomach and Docs want to make sure his bowel is healed enough to handle it.
We are hoping he will be put back on nasal prongs after his surgery. The meningitis debris and seizures are the main reasons Hayden cannot breathe on his own-they give him serious Apnea. Please pray for these seizures to go away!! Once they go away, we hope he will be able to breathe on his own AND drink from a BOTTLE!!! PLUS-Lisa & Dustin will finally be able to hold him again!! These seizures have been and continue to be a major setback.
We are shooting for Hayden to come home in August!!! He will be 5 months old but 1 month gestational. He is doing well, but still having those darned seizures! Once the seizures stop, he will be taken off all of the sedatives and will hopefully be restored back to his energized little self!! We miss seeing his eyes and smiles =)
Keep praying for our little man, we all want him better!
Love,
Krystal
