Hayden is so precious!

Thank you everyone for all of your love and support...we understand that so many people want to visit little Hayden because so many people love him so much...how wonderful! We don't know what we would do without all of your love, prayers, and support!

The nurses were able to take Hayden's light off today for a trial run! (He has been kept under a constant light to help with bruising)

The NICU staff is working hard to keep his blood pressure stable, surgery wound clean, and intestines healthy! The only thing they are worried about, is Hayden getting DIC due to his intestine surgery.

Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is a rare, serious condition that prevents a person's blood from clotting normally. In DIC, the body's natural ability to regulate blood clotting does not function properly. This causes the blood's clotting cells (platelets) to clump together and clog small blood vessels throughout the body.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pray that this little man stays healthy…he has been through so much already!!

The Catch-Up Post!

Below will be the catch up posts from the beginning since we are already a week late getting started.

3-22-08

As many of you may know, little Hayden Wayne Vorse was born on Good Friday by C-section at 1:34 p.m. Lisa was only 25 weeks pregnant, so Hayden will be in Bayshore's NICU until late June or early July (her due date). He was 2 pounds even, 12 3/4 in. long, and cute as can be! Beware, he is so adorable that you just might fall in love with him like we all have =)

Please keep Hayden and the family in your prayers, we really appreciate all of your support. Please pray for Lisa's and Hayden's full and healthy recovery. If you would like to visit, Lisa will be at Bayshore until Monday... visiting hours are 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thank you for everyone who is visiting and praying, it means alot to the family.

3-26-08

Today is day 6 (counting his birthday, Friday, as day 1) of Little Hayden's life. He is stable and looking as handsome as ever...(Lisa and I think he looks like her =)

Tomorrow (Thursday) is his 1st brain scan, which will tell us alot! Also, his ear muffs and eye coverings will be removed (hopefully) and he will have his 1st bath!!!

We truly appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers, and please continue to pray for our little guy, he and his family have a long journey ahead of them! NICU says he will most likely be able to come home on his orinigal due date (July 2) if he is stable enough...so keep on praying for that!!!

Again, thanks for your prayers, we know they have helped tremendously!

Hello, hope everyone is having a beautiful morning!!!

Brenda (my wonderful Mother-in-law) took several pics of Hayden Thursday (with everything off of his face & ears and his 1st bath) and set up a site where everyone an view them...click on:

PICTURES

He is stable and the Dr.s are trading his mouth tube for a smaller one for his nose because he is breathing so well on his own!!!

We appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers so much, thank you! We know how much everyone loves him already =)

Also, Hayden is a mini-celebrity =), and 2 hours a day just isn't enough time for all of us to see him =( Thank you for being so anxious to give him your love and patient when there are 10 people to see him...he will be in the NICU until late June or early July, so there will be plenty of time for everyone to see his beautiful little self =) I know that Lisa and Dustin appreciate everyone who has come to visit little Hayden, thank you so much!!!

I love everyone and hope you all are having a wonderful day!!

P.s. Friday was Hayden's 1 week birthday =)

3-30-08

I want to start by thanking each and every one of you for your support, thoughts, and prayers...Lisa and Dustin greatly appreciate it!

Saturday (at 5:00 p.m.) we found out that a team from TX Children's was in roue to bayshore for surgery to correct a hole in Hayden's gut. Surgery was successful, they put a drain in his gut to get rid of the infection and gave him a colostomy bag (that should be removed before he comes home).

We found out today, that Hayden now has a slight complication where he is losing blood because his platelets are being sent to the site of surgery, so he is receiving transfusions now. This complication is not common, but expected in preemies after surgery.

The doctors have said that "Hayden must have read the book on preemies, because he is doing/getting anything and everything a preemie can do/get!"...he is already a little trouble-maker ha ha ha =) Because there is so much new news, and Lisa can only answer so many phone calls-my Mother-in-law has set up this professional and discrete blog site where she and I will be updating Hayden's information for everyone. Hopefully, we can answer all questions and concerns this way =) and everyone can stay informed!

Thanks again for everyone's support and prayers, we all appreciate them so much!

Love you all and have a wonderful day!!
