Dear all,
Lisa was able to hold Hayden this afternoon for the first time!!! She said it was the best experience of her life!! She was able to hold him (skin to skin) for a whole HOUR (even though she said it only felt like 2 minutes!) We are all so happy for her, and know how great it must be to hold her baby for the first time ever!!!
Unfortunately, Dustin was not able to hold Hayden because the NICU is only doing “Kangaroo Mother Care” right now because Mommy and baby were not able to experience the Motherly bond at birth (like most babies). The NICU is hoping this will also increase Lisa’s milk supply and Hayden’s sucking reflexes just by the physical contact. We will be just as excited when Dustin is able to hold him, which will hopefully be soon!!
I will keep you guys updated with Hayden’s miracle journey and upload pics of Mommy and Hayden soon!!
