Unfortunately, we received some scary news from the Doctors last night. The infection “Group D Enterococcous” in Hayden’s spinal fluid (in his brain) had been diagnosed as BACTERIAL MENINGITIS. As many of you may know, this is a serious infectious bacteria. Hayden is currently receiving antibiotics to treat the infection. Hopefully, the Meningitis will be cured in a few days, but he will be on the antibiotics for 20-30 days.
He has been taken off of formula and being fed through an IV (like he was a few weeks ago). Hayden has been presented with so many set backs since he has been born, but is still fighting so hard for his little life. To date, he has experienced: severe brain bleeds, a rip in his gut (so he has a colostomy bag), Hydrocephalus, and now Bacterial Meningitis.
I know and appreciate that many of you have been praying for our little miracle baby-but he really needs them the most right now, and so do Lisa and Dustin-they have been so brave and strong throughout this! We will keep you updated with new information as we learn it.
